This trilogy was beautiful. I used to watch my brother play Fable the lost chapters on the Xbox original, and I always loved how Lionhead managed to create this mystical world of Albion with so much variety and possibilities. Peter Molyneux the creator of theme park – (a 1994 game which later spawned the series of theme park world and other games by bullfrog) and lead designer of Fable games had supported the series from when Lionhead took over from the blue box when making the lost chapters, but did he realize he had created one of the xbox’s all time legends?
I don’t believe that the game was first with idea of good and evil as games like Mass effect – (renegade and paragon) Fallout & Infamous – (Karma) and Deus Ex, Hitman & Dishonoured – (which gives you the option to avoid violence) which all involve moral choices – but the fact that your choices affect your appearance making you look like a god or a total fricken badass, is just … badass – and no we are not talking about only your eye colour changing – Mass effect!
What is even cooler is the fact – (in fable 3 only) is that your primary weapon morphs depending on your actions and achievements and the world around you (fable 1 & 2) adapts from the choices you make, – in fable 2 Old town can either be a high priced estate or another crap hole in Bowerstone
So what went wrong? – I cannot judge fable down to the games haven’t played but – Fable hero’s and Fable the journey, just appears to be the company milking this British beef dry. It pains me to criticise this rose of a series among the ocean of diarrhoea , but these last two may as well drown in the mud.
Let’s play: each games starts with you, the character as a kid, and you are given choice which is the first of your many to come – it’s a small sampler on what’s to come – but it’s also the best opening for an RPG of this size.
I shan’t have my review spoil the story for you guys and I shall recommend you guys to give the games a shot at least – they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea but fable are one of favourite series – it gets a 9
